The primary mission of the Centre is to:

  • Develop New Technologies: Focus on the advancement of battery materials, particularly lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, and lithium-air technologies. The center holds over 800 patents related to these innovations.
  • Foster Research Partnerships: Establish collaborations with various research entities to enhance technological advancements in electrification.
  • Commercialization: Facilitate the commercialization of technologies developed within Hydro-Québec, thereby contributing to the province’s economic growth.

This agreement will enable ELEQTRION to accelerate the development of aluminum-ion batteries not only for the energy storage market, but also for components of light mobility.
