Aimed at validating a TRL-4 level of our Aluminium-Ion battery technology, Québec ‘s Centre d’Excellence will be supporting the production and validating the cycle performance of our innovative aluminum-ion batteries, developed jointly with the École de technologie supérieure.
Hydro-Québec’s Centre d’Excellence en Électrification des Transports et en Stockage d’Énergie is a pivotal institution aimed at advancing research and development in electric transportation and energy storage technologies. Established in 2018 at the Institut de recherche d’Hydro-Québec (IREQ) in Varennes, this center plays a crucial role in promoting innovation and collaboration between academia and industry.
The primary mission of the Centre is to:
- Develop New Technologies: Focus on the advancement of battery materials, particularly lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, and lithium-air technologies. The center holds over 800 patents related to these innovations.
- Foster Research Partnerships: Establish collaborations with various research entities to enhance technological advancements in electrification.
- Commercialization: Facilitate the commercialization of technologies developed within Hydro-Québec, thereby contributing to the province’s economic growth.
This agreement will enable ELEQTRION to accelerate the development of aluminum-ion batteries not only for the energy storage market, but also for components of light mobility.
